Anyone who wishes to take the Credit by Exams for Acceleration in June (8th-11th) need to fill out the application and submit it to Mrs. Johnston no later than Wednesday, April 15th. We will set up a meeting the you (parents), the counselor and principal to explain the process and project required when taking Credit by Exam.

Due to weather conditions closing school on January 22, 2015, May 1st will now be a regular school day. 

Pastries for Parents will be Friday, March 6th from 8:00-9:00. Classrooms will be closed until 7:50 for set up. We hope to see you out for breakfast and an educational activity with your child!

Spirit Week is March 9-13!

We are hosting a Spirit Week to support our Education Foundation. Many of our teachers have received money from the Education Foundation for their classrooms purchasing items such as books, technology, and supplies.  As a fundraiser for the Education Foundation, we will be hosting a spirit week. Students will need to pay $1.00 for each activity that they wish to participate in.

 Monday, March 9 – Pajama and slipper Day

 Tuesday, March 10 – Twinsie Tuesday (you and a friend…or group of friends dress alike!) 

Wed. , March 11 – Sports Day (Dress in your favorite team attire…hats ok)

 Thursday, March 12 – Wacky Tacky Day. The goal of wacky tacky day is to dress as wacky as possible. (Pajama pants with a fancy dress). 

Friday, March 13 – Dress as your dream job (dress like a teacher, a nurse, a policeman, etc.) (This day will correlate with our career and hobby day as well!)

Pre-K and Head Start qualifications open on May 5th

Families interested in Canyon ISD’s Pre-K program or Region 16’s Head Start program have the opportunity to qualify on May 5th from 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. The programs are offered to all Canyon ISD students, but to qualify for the programs families must meet one of the qualifiers.  Click here for a list of campuses and Pre-K and Head Start qualifications. 

Online Registration for 2015-2016 

Canyon ISD has updated the online student registration process and it is now connected to grade viewer. Online student registration will be using the same username and password as grade viewer.  If you are currently using grade viewer, you are ready to log into online registration when it opens at the end of July.  If you are not currently utilizing grade viewer, please go to Grade Viewer and set up your account. Do so now while there is someone on campus to assist you. Canyon ISD is excited about the connection between online student registration and grade viewer. If you have any questions, please contact your campus registrar.

New After School Program Provider

Canyon ISD is excited to announce the Boys & Girls Club of Amarillo and Canyon as our new after school program provider. They will have fun and exciting programs that include educational games, technology skills, tutoring, homework help, and extra physical activity. Registration opens in July. Bond Election Scheduled for May 9

During the February Canyon ISD school board meeting, the Board of Trustees approved a $34.8 million bond election for May 9, 2015 to fund the construction of a new intermediate campus, add classrooms to City View Elementary, and replace several roofs.  Click here for additional information.
